I recently signed my first publishing contract, and I realized that while I thought I knew how all that business worked, when it came down to the details I didn’t really understand anything. I looked all over and I couldn’t find a good resource – from an author – to tell a writer what happens after you sign that contract. So I decided to make that resource.
On this site I’m going to share my experiences getting a book published as they happen. I’ll start with the contract and go wherever the process leads from there. I hope this will serve as a guide to other writers who get lucky and find someone who wants to publish their work.
I feel the need to sign off with a catch phrase, like Excelsior! or Courage! or Seacrest out! or Smell you later! But I got nothing. I’ll have to go with a vanilla closing:
